Allow
me to introduce
myself-Lora Lee Boone
wife of John, a
real-estate appraiser,
and mother of two sons
by adoption, Matthew
and Andrew. I
obtained a BA in
Communication with a
minor in Spanish
studies from Auburn
University in
Montgomery.
After teaching
elementary Spanish to
very young children, I
knew I was ready for a
family of my
own. We did not
conceive right away
and chose not to
pursue fertility
testing and
treatment. Our
main goal was to
become parents and our
best option was
adoption.
An
avid researcher, I
checked out all types
of adoptions. In
the end, we decided
that private, agency
adoption suited us
well. Less than
nine months later, we
picked up newborn
Mathew at the
hospital.
Nineteen months later,
we traveled to pick up
newborn Andrew from
the hospital.
After
friends and family
watched our successful
journeys, word spread
and I began receiving
phone calls from
couples interested in
adoption, but full of
questions about how to
get started and
navigate the
complicated,
overwhelming flow of
adoption
information. For
four years, I have
stayed abreast of
adoption trends and
laws, made contacts at
nationwide agencies,
and helped numerous
couples fulfill their
dream of
adopting. Now, I
am establishing
Adoption Information
connection to further
reach couples who
desire an adoption advocate.
Adoption Information
Connection is not an
adoption agency.
I am not a social
worker. I am an
experienced adoptive
parent who has walked
in your shoes. I
will be there in an advisory
position before,
during, and after
placement of a child
in your home and wish
you the best and
Godspeed in your
endeavor.
